Henderson is the second largest city in Nevada, located just 16 miles southeast of Las Vegas. With an estimated population of 310,390 in 2018, it is considered part of the Las Vegas Metropolitan area. Incorporated in 1953, Henderson also ranked No. 84 in “Best Places to Live” by CNN Money and ranked second in Forbes list of “America’s Safest Cities” in 2011.
Henderson is located in the Mojave Desert therefore has a desert climate. It has mild winters and hot summers. On rare occasion we have had snow fall in the winter but every summer monsoon can bring heavy rain storms. The hottest month is traditionally in July and the coldest month is typically December. We have come to expect around 300 days of sunshine here in the Las Vegas Valley as well.
Henderson has experienced dramatic economic growth and continued economic diversity throughout the years. We are now officially home to the Las Vegas Raiders practice stadium and the Las Vegas Golden Knights agreed to build and operate an indoor ice hockey facility in downtown Henderson. We have also attracted one of the biggest names in the world, Google. In 2019 they decided to build a $600 million data center that will create up to 200 full time jobs within the community, when completed.
